Paris – September 14, 2026: General Sameh Katta, Chairman and CEO of the Egyptian Satellite Company “Nilesat,” and Mr. Jean-François Fallacher, Chief Executive Officer of “Eutelsat,” held a bilateral meeting in Paris yesterday on the sidelines of the Satellite Week Business.
The meeting discussed prospects for enhancing cooperation and strategic partnership between the two companies across a number of areas of mutual interest in space communications, supporting opportunities for integration and leveraging the expertise and capabilities available to both companies.
The two sides also discussed ways to enhance technical and operational coordination, as well as mechanisms for cooperation in frequency management and related rights, contributing to the optimal utilization of space resources.
The two sides reviewed their forward-looking vision for a number of potential satellite projects and explored opportunities to integrate satellite technologies with digital infrastructure technologies, alongside the Nilesat Data Center project, opening new avenues for cooperation in communications and digital services.
The meeting also addressed ways to enhance commercial coordination between the two sides, contributing to the provision of competitive services to customers, as well as proposals to improve the utilization of available capacity on both sides and maximize its benefits.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of continuing dialogue and coordination during the coming period and working to develop the areas of cooperation discussed into practical steps, thereby supporting the partnership between Nilesat and Eutelsat and strengthening their competitiveness in the space communications market at both the regional and international levels.
The Nilesat delegation included Dr. Mohamed Abdelghany, Head of the Space Sector, and Eng. Shams El-Din Mahmoud, Manager of the Chairman’s Office for Technical Affairs and Strategic Planning.
The Eutelsat delegation included Mr. José Ignacio González-Núñez SVP Americas, Video Business Unit at Eutelsat and Mr. Americ Venty, Head of Video Business Unit.
