Paris – September 14, 2026: General Sameh Katta, Chairman and CEO of the Egyptian Satellite Company “Nilesat,” held a meeting with Eng. Badr Al-Suwaidan, Chief Executive Officer of “Arabsat,” and Mr. Muhannad bin Abdulaziz Al-Murshid, Chief Technology Officer of “Arabsat,” in the presence of a number of senior executive and technical representatives from both sides.
The meeting was held as part of the two companies’ commitment to strengthening Arab cooperation in the satellite sector and satellite communications services.
The meeting focused on ways to further develop and strengthen cooperation between Nilesat and Arabsat in satellite and space communications services, with particular emphasis on data center services and exploring opportunities to expand cooperation in this area in a manner that creates added value and serves the mutual interests of both companies.
The two sides also discussed potential cooperation opportunities in the Middle East and African markets, as well as ways to optimize the use of their respective satellite coverage, infrastructure, and accumulated expertise. Such cooperation would contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of Arab satellite services and strengthening their presence in these markets.
The discussions also addressed the importance of coordination and cooperation on pricing policies in a manner that supports market stability and enhances competitiveness, while maintaining a balance between the interests of both companies and the needs of their customers.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continuing coordination and consultation and expanding areas of joint cooperation, in support of Arab cooperation in the satellite and space communications sector, and to translating the matters discussed into practical steps during the coming period.
