December 4th, 2024 – Nilesat Chairman and CEO Major General Sameh Kata has received France Ambassador to Egypt, His Excellency Eric Chevalllier, at the company’s headquarters to celebrate more than 25 years of Nilesat’s partnerships with French companies working in the field of satellite manufacturing, launching, and technical consulting.
At the beginning of their meeting, General Sameh Kata stressed the importance of the visit, which reflects the strength and depth of the historical and fruitful relations between Nilesat and its French partners, which extend for more than 25 years of fruitful cooperation and mutual respect. France has been a major partner in the company’s journey since its establishment.
He also said that Nilesat satellites, which serve millions of viewers in the region, were manufactured by leading French companies and were launched into space using the latest French satellite technology.
He pointed out that this cooperation was not only a reason for achieving technical excellence, but also contributed to enhancing the spirit of innovation and joint growth.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of Thales Alenia Space, Remy Le Thuc, French Telecom projects VP, Patrick Cordier, Project Manager of the Nilesat 301 satellite project, which was launched in 2022, and Ahmed Diaa, Thales representative in Cairo.
General Kata accompanied the ambassador in a tour at Nilesat premises. He was briefed on the latest technologies used in the field of satellite operation that the company has adopted since the launch of its first satellite in 1998 until the company’s latest satellite, Nilesat 301 that was launched in 2022.
