The Egyptian Satellite Company (Nilesat) signed a strategic partnership and joint cooperation agreement with the Arab Satellite Communications Corporation (Arabsat), as the two leading companies in the field of satellites and communications services in the Middle East and the Arab region.
The agreement, which was signed last week in Riyadh, includes ways of cooperation in the fields of satellite television broadcasting and communications in the region. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the third edition of the Saudi Media Forum, whose activities were held in the Saudi capital from February 19 to 21.
Nilesat Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director, Major General Sameh Qatah, affirmed the company’s keenness to open more cooperation outlets with various satellite operators in the region within the framework of the company’s plans to exchange experiences and capabilities of satellite technology.
He pointed out that the joint cooperation with Arabsat aims to achieve integration in providing satellite broadcasting and communications services through an advanced satellite system covering wide geographical ranges that meets all the needs of customers in the Middle East and Africa.
For his part, Arabsat CEO, Eng. Al-Hamidi bin Manahi Al-Anazi, expressed his happiness with the cooperation with Nilesat, describing it as a good beginning for concluding new agreements that strengthen the strategic partnership between the two sides, support development in all areas of satellite broadcasting and communications, and strengthen partnerships in many areas of common interest. In a way that achieves the interests of both parties.
